Our Diversity in Print Winners!!!
The Awards were presented on Wednesday, Congratulations to…
1st Prize – David Nixon’s Conundrum
2nd Prize – Frances Luke’s Mangrove Dream
Both of these works display a beautiful sensitivity and gentle strength. Both artists are skilled in realising the very best results. They are beautifully crafted works. One, (David’s “Conundrum”) is speaking about the duality of unification and diversity through a visual abstraction. The second work (Mangrove Dream) is a sad visual song about the terrible greed of man destroying the natural habitat – in this case, mangroves that are such an important part of our eco system. This work, as well as the other three works of Frances, show great finesse and care. The dry point medium is utilised very well.
Other works that need to be acknowledged are
Sue Paggioli’s Pauli
Glenda Orr’s The Magic Tap
Kristina Hall’s Grasshopper in Plastic Wrap
All three works are skilfully made and have great visual impact.
I was impressed with the quality of all the entries. Congratulations to all the Artists and the Royal Queensland Art Society for a well hung exhibition.
